Matters arising in Karnataka are advised on from the New Delhi chambers and coordinated locally through correspondent counsel before the Karnataka High Court and its subordinate courts.
The Karnataka High Court, formerly the Mysore High Court, traces to 1884 and sits at Bengaluru, in the Attara Kacheri building opposite the Vidhana Soudha. It has two further permanent benches — at Dharwad, established in 2013 after decades of advocacy from the legal community in North Karnataka, and at Kalaburagi, also established in 2013 — each serving defined districts of the state's north.
Identifying the correct bench for a matter's originating district is the first step before filing outside Bengaluru — the Dharwad bench alone covers eight districts of North Karnataka that would otherwise require litigants to travel 400–600 km to the principal bench.
Mayach & Co. does not maintain an office in Karnataka. Matters arising here — whether before the Bengaluru bench or the Dharwad or Kalaburagi benches — are advised on from the New Delhi chambers and coordinated through correspondent counsel local to the relevant bench, in the manner standard to Indian legal practice. See Matters Outside Delhi for how this works generally.
