The Rajasthan High Court

The Rajasthan High Court's principal seat sits at Jodhpur, with a permanent bench at Jaipur re-established in 1977. Jurisdiction between the two is split by district rather than by case type — the Jaipur bench hears matters from the state's eastern and central districts, including Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Sikar, Tonk, and Kota, while the remaining districts fall under the Jodhpur seat. Establishing which seat holds a given district is the first step before filing.

The Court traces to 1949, when it unified the erstwhile High Courts of Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur, and Alwar into a single court for the newly integrated state.

How Matters Are Handled
Correspondent Counsel, Not a Local Office

Mayach & Co. does not maintain an office in Rajasthan. Matters arising in the state — whether before the Jodhpur seat or the Jaipur bench — are advised on from the New Delhi chambers and coordinated through correspondent counsel local to the relevant seat, in the manner standard to Indian legal practice. See Matters Outside Delhi for how this works generally.
