Matters arising in Uttarakhand are advised on from the New Delhi chambers and coordinated locally through correspondent counsel before the Uttarakhand High Court and its subordinate courts.
The Uttarakhand High Court was established on 9 November 2000, when the state was carved out of Uttar Pradesh, and sits at Nainital — the state's judicial capital, distinct from the administrative capital at Dehradun. It has a single seat, with no separate bench elsewhere in the state.
The Court's location has itself been a live administrative question: in 2025 the High Court directed the state government to identify an alternative site for relocation, citing congestion at Nainital, and the Supreme Court has since stayed that order pending further hearing. The seat remains at Nainital for now, but this is worth tracking for any matter with a long time horizon in this jurisdiction.
Mayach & Co. does not maintain an office in Uttarakhand. Matters arising in the state are advised on from the New Delhi chambers and coordinated through correspondent counsel at Nainital or the relevant district court, in the manner standard to Indian legal practice. See Matters Outside Delhi for how this works generally.
